Vision is vital for any group of people who want to grow and move on from where they are now. Vision inspires us to step out, to take risks. Vision joins us together, as we realise just how much we need each other’s help and support to reach our potential.
As Submerge, we want to grow and move forward together, and be all that God want’s us to be. Below are a few thoughts about that…….
So what’s the big idea? What are we trying to do? What is life all about? When Jesus was on earth, he was asked by one of the teachers this same question. What’s the most important thing we can do with our lives?
| ‘One of the teachers of the law came and heard them debating. Noticing that Jesus had given them a good answer, he asked him, “Of all the commandments, which is the most important?”

It is really important for any body of people to have a vision and a purpose. We need to know what we’re about, and why we do the things we do.
The purpose of Submerge is to put God first, and actively bring the transforming love of Jesus to the world around us. Let’s break that down a little.
| “The most important one” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.”

We put God first, because He is God. Beyond Him even being top of our priority list, we want to be people who put Him above all other things in our lives.

We want to be active. We believe God wants to use us to bring His transforming love to those around us, so we want to actively pursue that. Often we find it tough to be like Jesus with other people, let alone tell them about him. But God is calling us to do it. He has chosen us to make a difference in the world. He has chosen each one of us to do our bit. Infact, he didn’t just choose us. We are his plan for our generation – his best plan. We’re it. If God wants to reach our entire generation, how is he going to do it? Through us. God wants to use us to give our generation hope and a future. And we can show an entire generation what an amazing future they can have if they start getting to know Jesus.

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.
